Good news, Gal Gadot fans and fans of America, the second installment of the Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman will be set in America, as the United States of America, far away from Themyscira, as well as London and the European locales she traveled to in the first film. Jenkins, in a remark held back until now, said this to Entertainment Weekly in April:

“The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right. She’s Wonder Woman. She’s got to come to America. It’s time.”

My take? Don’t really care. I’m not interested in seeing the first one and I’m not much more interested in seeing the second one. Perhaps that’s just my centrist cynicism kicking in. But I do have some questions, such as: will she battle the Nazis in World War II, which should be next on her agenda? Doesn’t she age, at all? So there’s a story to be told, there, as far as dealing with World War II, a much larger and much more Manichean dichotomy of good versus evil. I’d like to see her battle it out with the Nazis, as if she had perhaps a noteworthy sidekick, instead of a disposable male love interest, I wouldn’t mind catching up on her beating the shit out of the ultimate human evil.
