Not a big thing, just a tidbit, but every Star Wars fan knows Ralph McQuarrie, no relation to Christopher, no relation to Nolan. They know he was the main man behind the effort to bring George Lucas’s often purloined ideas to life on the big screen. We know he was meticulous and highly-driven to perfection, which is why his art books are so in demand and often so hard to come by.  He also did work for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Cocoon, and the original Battlestar Galactica television series.

Now a fan by the name of Gus Lopez, who also runs the website Star Wars Collectors Archive, has put online, in the form of an Instagram, original lettering by McQuarrie, who passed away back in 2012.

Pretty cool artwork, and you can just barely glimpse the evolution of one logo into another, and then into the final versions they became.
