Dwayne The Rock Johnson just shared a new image on-set depicting the aftermath of a giant monster attack from his latest film, Rampage. Loosely a film remake of the Nintendo Entertainment System video game of the same name, Rampage will debut in 2018, and expand The Rock’s, errr, Dwayne Johnson’s global reach.
With an all-star cast that also includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Naomie Harris (Moonlight) and Malin Akerman (Trophy Wife), the film reunites Johnson with director Brad Peyton (San Andreas). Focusing on Johnson’s character’s efforts to stop three monsters destroying his city, Rampage aims to be a shot of adrenalin for any action movie junkie.

Synopsis: Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.
My take: looks like it could fun or it could be shit. The Rock has no screen presence so he’s just a player in his set pieces like GI JOE figures in their little vehicles and bases. More than likely the onsters ill be the stars of the film, so think of this like Jurassic World without much plot or character development, or much else but the monsters destroying shit.
