Finally, the teaser trailer for the stand-alone Black Panther movie has arrived. Check it out below:
Official synopsis: Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) is directing the film and features a cast consisting almost entirely of people of color. Joining Boseman on this adventure is Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, and more.
My take: I won’t watch it because I don’t like the Black Panther. Nah. Just kidding. I won’t watch it because I’m a racist SOB. Or not. But I’m not fan of these kinds of movies, and to this day refuse to watch 24: Redemption. So maybe I am a racist. Aren’t we all? A little?
Seriously though the film looks generic, and I had to chuckle when the teaser made the overt claim that the most advanced civilization in the world is in…..Africa. Whatthefuckever. I hope this shit bombs.
