The doll from Annabelle is back in her own prequel film, Annabelle: Creation, like a female version of Chucky, but this time she’s even more evil. Or something.
Appearing in only a single scene in the film 2013 horror hit The Conjuring, and given her own prequel movie in 2014, the latter film made a whopping $84.2 domestically and $172.6 million overseas for a whopping global take of $256.8 million. Yeah, thank god we can add, right? So expect a lot more of these cheaply-made movies.
From wikipedia: The story is focused on a dollmaker and his wife, whose daughter died twenty years earlier, as they decide to open their home to a nun and several girls from an orphanage that has been closed. The dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle, sets her sights on Janice and Linda, turning their shuddered shelter into a storm of terror.
Anyway, check out the new images above and tell me what you think. Does this scare to you? Is Annabelle to Chucky what Wonder Woman is to Superman? Is this just another franchise cheap to make and easy to exploit for big bucks at the theaters?
