Matthew Perry, hit star of so many acclaimed films, has decided he’s not interested in a Friends revival.

Perry explained his lack of interest in a Friends reunion during an interview with Variety , saying:

“I have this recurring nightmare – I’m not kidding about this. When I’m asleep, I have this nightmare that we do “Friends” again and nobody cares. We do a whole series, we come back, and nobody cares about it. So if anybody asks me, I’m gonna say no. The thing is: We ended on such a high. We can’t beat it. Why would we go and do it again?”

Perry’s had numerous chances on television post-Friends, and all of them have suffered early cancellation. Few if any have reached the acclaim of Friends. Three of them – Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Go On, and Mr. Sunshine – got terminated after a mere single season, whereas The Odd Couple, Perry’s most long-run television series after Friends, received a pink slip after only three seasons.

My take? Perry isn’t doing so well, career-wise. Sure, he’s had a few shows here and there but his career seems to be dying a slow painful death. A Friends revival might just be the shot in the arm the moron needs to boost his resume. Otherwise, he sounds like an idiot for blaming a nightmare on his rejection of a much-needed Friends reunion show.
