A new poster for Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk in IMAX has appeared. Check it out below:
Synopsis: In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.

My take: I’m no Chris Nolan fan, so my expectations going in are low. He’s never helmed a war picture, and proved himself incapable at science fiction, outside Inception, which was more psychological thriller and less science fiction. Sci-fi wise, Interstellar was based on a pop-culty physics book, and imo Nolan failed to make much sense out if it, with time-traveling aliens who turn out to be us in the future. lol. He also made a mess, arguably, out of Batman, starting with his Dark Knight middle film, which to this day either moves so fast you cannot properly see the flaws, or is just wholly incoherent in narrative. I don’t know which. Perhaps both. Regardless, Dunkirk looks to be another bleak movie from the bleak master of bleak films. His niche. I hope he enjoys the misery and solitude of his own films, to be honest.
