In other capeshit news, Kevin Feige is now saying there won’t be much news about Phase 4, the phase after the current Marvel cinematic universe iteration, likely because there are spoilers to be had from the giant shake up waiting at the end of the upcoming two-part Infinity War series arc, which broadly spans Avengers 3 and Avengers 4.
In an interview with io9 while promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared there won’t be any announcements about post-Avengers 4 films until after the last Avengers film is out.
“I hope [the news comes] after that. I think there will be certain elements that start to come about, not the least of which is the already announced release date of the next Spider-Man film. But other than that we’re going to keep it very close to the vest because this is really about focusing on the unprecedented conclusion to a 22-movie overarching narrative.”
So basically he’s keeping the news of what will happen after those films close to his chest, or vest, or whatever. He doesn’t want to spill the beans on what’s going to happen next although I’m pretty sure they have the entire thing mapped out well into the 2020’s. Probably a new Captain America, and a black Iron Man. Pretty sure something like that is in the works for the MCU. What else could it be, right?
And that’s it. I wish there were more but it’s Sunday night and not shit is happening in the land of movie news. Sleep tight.
