In the newest poster for David Leitch’s Atomic Blonde, Charlize Theron looks very comfortable with her gun in hand. One wonders if she’s wearing any clothes, as well. Theron stars opposite James McAvoy as Lorraine Broughton, a cold war era spy in this comparatively novel film surrounded by a sea of stale reboots, tired sequels, and comic book crap. Now we have the latest poster for the film, below:
My take: it’ll be interesting to see what Leitch (Deadpool 2)does with the material, to see if he can do for it what he did for John Wick. What we don’t need is another boring, languorous, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. We need a film with oomf. A film like Salt, but better. If Leitch can deliver that much, at least, he might have a hit on his hands. But I doubt it. Theron to me is box office poison, and I’ve yet to see a film in which she starred that did better than decent. Prometheus? Nope. Pretty sure her greatest hit was when she shaved her head, called herself a man, and appeared in George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road.
